The Green Acres story
It started with an
English breakfast.
In 1986, Nick Mathews opened an English Breakfast Bar in Amsterdam. British and Irish products were difficult to source for the hospitality trade. That search led him to establish Green Acres in 1996.
The business remains in the Mathews family. Its range now extends well beyond breakfast, but British and Irish breakfast specialities are still part of Green Acres.

What is the difference between back bacon and streaky bacon?
Back bacon is made from cured pork loin and usually has a broad, relatively lean section. Streaky bacon comes from the belly and has more fat running through it. It is the style commonly known in the Netherlands as ontbijtspek. Green Acres lists both cuts.
How does an Irish breakfast differ from a full English?
